Superb Arts and Crafts silver three handled quaich hallmarked Chester 1918 Jay Richard Attenborough Co Ltd
A stunning, heavy gauge silver Quaiche. The style is archetypal Arts and Crafts, with a subtly hammered deep silver bowl sitting on one circular foot. The three handles are unusually shaped , further enhancing the Arts and Crafts character of this piece.
Hallmarks are visible on one side for the Chester Assay office with a date mark for 1918 and Lion Passant. The silver maker's mark is also clear : Jay Richard Attenborough Co Ltd. The base is stamped 'Jays, 142 & 144 Oxford St. W.
This item is perfectly proportioned and feels a good solid heavy weight when held in the hand.
