Hallmarked Birmingham 1793 by Samuel Pemberton small silver Snuff Box
A rare solid silver snuff box, wonderfully proportioned in a small scale size by the renowned Georgian Silversmith: Samuel Pemberton.
The box is an oval shape, hinged to one side of the lid, which is beautifully decorated. There is also a lovely band of leaf decoration around the centre of the body of the box.
When opened the hallmarks are revealed for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1793 and the maker's mark for Samuel Pemberton.
The lid closes and fits snuggly (this was to ensure the snuff did not escape).
An early piece for Samuel Pemberton, rare size by a desired maker!
Condition: This Snuff Box is in great antique collector's condition. (There are some very minor surface scratches and a couple of very minor dints to the base, commensurate with the age of the item). Please see the images for clarification.
