Exceptional Arts & Crafts silver tea strainer and stand by Adams and Holman, Hallmarked Birmingham 1939
A superb, solid silver Tea Strainer and Stand in the most wonderful Arts & Crafts style. The delightful bowl has twin pierced handles either side in the most handsome iconic arts & Crafts design and the centre of the bowl is pierced in an unusual star burst design. The strainer sits perfectly on a neat polished silver stand. Very clear hallmarks are visible on both the underside of the Tea Strainer and the side of the Stand, for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1939, along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the maker's marks for Adams & Holman. The base of the stand is a charming solid wood sitting within the silver circular frame.
This is an exceptional item and rare to find both Strainer bowl and stand, and in such great antique condition.
