9ct rose gold bracelet
December 19th, 2011
This wonderful bracelet is a lovely example of rose gold. Whereas pure gold is of course yellow in colour, coloured gold – such as rose gold – is achieved via a process of alloying gold with other elements in various proportions.
Widely used for jewellery, rose gold is a gold and copper alloy. It can also be referred to as pink gold and red gold. However, although these names are used interchangeably, there is a difference between red, rose and pink gold in that the copper content is higher in order to achieve a stronger red colouration. The common alloy for rose gold is 75% gold and 25% copper by mass. Whereas there is ‘pure gold’, there is no such thing as ‘pure rose gold’ owing to the fact that it is an alloy.
Priced at £345, this bracelet is 8 inches in length.
